This project is monumental in so many ways: the scope and scale of the academy, the excellence in planning, the opportunity to transform large communities… and the most inspiring part of it is the legacy, the long-lasting impact, that the academy will have in the community, the legacy of the students that have paved the way for new ones, and the legacy we know the new students will leave, not only at the school for their peers, but in their families, in their workplaces, in their own communities.

This project is an extremely significant and full-circle moment for Project Rescue, as there has never been an opportunity for influence in the community at this magnitude. A multi-million dollar campaign, building a new academy from the ground up in a sustainable and intentional way. This is a moment to take 25+ years of learning and growing, the strength of the Project Rescue Network, and pour it into a new institution that is literally history in the making. This project is an extremely significant and full-circle moment for Project Rescue, as there has never been an opportunity for influence in the community at this magnitude. Because of how significant the ask is, our main audience will be donors, partners, churches who are already invested in Project Rescue. They’ve been tracking with us for years, and they’re confident and eager to partner with us in this multi-year fundraising project.Because of how significant the ask is, our main audience will be donors, partners, churches who are already invested in Project Rescue. When our main audience (our invested donors and partners) watch/read/see any campaign resources, we want them to feel ignited, fired up and ready to go! They adopt the energy of such an incredible and historic moment, they are not overwhelmed, they’re ready for action. When our main audience (our invested donors and partners) watch/read/see any campaign resources, we want them to feel ignited, fired up and ready to go! We hope and expect our audience to join the campaign and donate, but much more than that, especially for this campaign that will last years, we want our audience to feel empowered and take ownership of the project- taking action and bringing others in on it as well. We invite them to take a big role, because we need them and they are important for this campaign to succeed. We hope and expect our audience to join the campaign and donate, but much more than that, especially for this campaign that will last years, we want our audience to feel empowered and take ownership of the project- taking action and bringing others in on it as well. Justin Devaraj
CHARACTER BRIEF
Justin will be the main character that will help keep the story flowing, he will be the voice and representation of PR as a whole in telling the story of Jireh International.
-
He's been a part of the story from the very beginning, since his dad started it all off in the 90s.
-
He wants to be able to impact students on a grand scale, providing them the resources they need to thrive and surrounding them with a family of support and encouragement.
-
The whole goal is to break the cycle of exploitation but it also goes beyond that to impacting a community at large and the generations that follow.
Jennifer & Jon
EXPERTS
Separate interviews with Jennifer and Jon will be filmed as they help fill in pieces of the story. Their role in the film are as Experts that give extra information and credibility.
STORYBOARD
HOOK
1. The girls in the RLD ask “get us out of here”
Going back to the very beginning, where PR started, when the daughters in the Red Light District came to us and said “please take us out of here. If you don’t, we’ll end up like our mothers.”
CONFLICT
2. Thousands of lives are at stake
This is literally about life and death of these children in the Red Light District. Not just their lives, but the lives of their families, and the generations that follow them. If we don’t break this cycle, it will continue on for decades, centuries…
INITIATION
3. Break the cycle - ministry begins
The only way this cycle breaks is to get these children out of the Red Light District- so that’s what we did. That’s how Project Rescue started.
JOURNEY
4. Local school isn’t enough
Even though the children are now out of the RLD, and attending public school- it just wasn’t enough. A lot of the children were behind academically, the teachers and parents weren’t working together to help the kids succeed, the teachers didn’t have the time to help individual kids… Even if they did end up graduating, it would have been in a system where they weren’t allowed to chase any career they wanted. Their futures were still limited.
JOURNEY
5. Started a school
The academy was started specifically for these children, to give them the resources they needed to catch up, advance, and succeed in the areas that they were interested in.
JOURNEY
6. Notified of rezoning
There’s more we can do, we want to reach more children and more communities. Coincidentally we were notified by local authorities that they were rezoning our school and we had to move.
JOURNEY
7. Jireh International was born
We can reach more kids, and it’s built in a sustainable way. We have this amazing opportunity to make a greater impact than ever before, and we have the experience to support it.
Some details about the sustainability aspect, the plans, and numbers.
RESOLUTION
8. The direct impact on communities and generations
The change that results in 1 of those 1000 kids is huge in itself, BUT it is not even close to the real impact. It’s the impact on each of those kids’ immediate families, and their future families, and their daughters, sons, their granddaugthers and grandsons, their great-granddaughters and great-grandsons, and so on. The impact on just ONE of these kids, will mean eternal impact on every generation and family and community of each of those descendants. And what the investment that the school is having in 1000 kids, will quickly be multiplied exponentially within a matter of decades.

STYLE IDEAS
Interviews filmed looking directly at the camera (like the Brand Film)
We follow one “student” throughout the story (actor/volunteer)
Recreations:
Red Light District scene where the girls ask “take us out of here”
At the academy showing all the resources (dorms, nutrition, classes, friends, extra-curriculars)
Scenes of students and their spheres of influence (to show the impact that education has on one student)
An animation of some sort showing the drawing of the Jireh campus could help bring excitement to that part of the story.
