Struggling to Write Ministry Updates that Engage Donors?
You’ve seen God do amazing things- but if your emails are vague or unclear, your supporters won’t feel connected.
This free guide will show you how to:
Write subject lines that get your emails opened
Follow a simple story-driven format for every update
Engage donors with clear, Christ-centered storytelling
Burnout in ministry is real—and it’s hitting women leaders hard.
Many women serving in small, donor-funded ministries are quietly carrying exhaustion, hidden pain, and even shame. You love what God has called you to do, but inside you may be asking: How much longer can I keep this up?
In this week’s episode of The Story-Driven Ministry Podcast, I sit down with Jourdan Lunsford, host of the podcast Failing Loudly and a ministry coach who helps leaders process pain and find joy again. Jourdan opens up about her own journey through burnout, identity loss, and healing—and offers wisdom for women leaders walking the same road.
Signs You May Be Burned Out in Ministry
Jourdan shares that burnout doesn’t always look like a moral failure or a crisis. More often, it’s the pileup of unresolved pain that we never slow down to process. Some of the red flags include:
No real Sabbath or time for rest
Feeling more like “roommates” in your marriage
Constant busyness without joy
Struggling to admit unhappiness, even to yourself
Carrying shame and asking, “What’s wrong with me?”
If these sound familiar, you’re not alone.
Burnout doesn’t have to define your story. Jourdan testifies that as she laid down unhealthy rhythms and rediscovered her identity as a daughter of God, she began to experience ministry from a place of wholeness and overflow.
And that same restoration is possible for you.
You are not alone. God loves you more than what you produce—and He invites you into rest, stillness, and joy.
