How Storytelling Transformed an Unfocused Vision into a Ministry Movement

Have you ever had a big vision for ministry—one you knew was from God—but had no idea where to start?

That’s exactly where my mom’s team found themselves in Spain. After decades of faithful missions work, they received a powerful vision: to share the gospel in every province of Spain.

The problem?

They didn’t have a plan.

So they did what many ministries do when passion runs high and clarity runs low—they got to work.

They gathered a team, grabbed their camera, and hit the road. They filmed all day long—interviews, scenic shots, cultural landmarks, food, local stories—but when they came home, the footage felt scattered. There were hundreds of clips, but no clear direction.

It was a creative blur.

And if you’ve ever tried to communicate your ministry’s vision without a defined story… you know the feeling.

From Chaos to Clarity

When my mom and I sat down to talk, she shared how that season was both exciting and frustrating. They knew God had called them to share the gospel through video—but they couldn’t see the structure.

That’s when I encouraged her team to try a story-driven approach.

Instead of gathering random moments, I invited them to build each video around one clear, powerful story — a main character, a core conflict, and a moment of resolution.

That single shift changed everything.

They began searching for real testimonies from each province—truck drivers, professors, musicians, doctors, people from every walk of life whose journeys revealed God’s grace in deeply personal ways.

And with that story framework in place, the entire vision came into focus.

A Ministry Movement Was Born

What started as a handful of unfocused filming trips became a nationwide storytelling project.

Over the next four and a half years, their small team created 52 short films — each one highlighting a powerful testimony from a different region of Spain.

Those stories now live online in nine different languages, airing on TV and streaming across Latin America, France, and the Middle East. Churches across Spain use them in outreach events. Teachers use them in Spanish classrooms. And people who’ve never heard the gospel are encountering Jesus—through story.

The Power of a Story-Driven Plan

This episode is more than a sweet mother-daughter conversation. It’s a powerful reminder that:

  • A story-driven plan brings clarity where chaos once reigned.

  • Testimonies reach people’s hearts in ways that statistics never will.

  • And when we build ministry around real people’s stories, the message of the gospel becomes tangible, personal, and unforgettable.

God uses story not just to reach others—but to shape us, too.
